Comments: The CLAS Field Research Grant supports master's, doctoral, and professional school students conducting preliminary fieldwork in Latin America or Iberia, providing them with the opportunity to establish professional and institutional contacts, assess research sites, and refine their projects. Award recipients are selected from among all divisions and professional schools of the University of Chicago. Applicants must be graduate students from any academic department or professional school at the University of Chicago.Financial support may be used towards international airfare and in-country transportation and living expenses. Travel must be completed by December 1, 2011.

Comments: The Udall Foundation awards two one-year fellowships of up to $24,000 to doctoral candidates whose research concerns U.S. environmental public policy and/or environmental conflict resolution and who are entering their final year of writing the dissertation. Dissertation Fellowships are intended to cover both academic and living expenses from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
