Length: 9 months

 

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must complete all requirements for the PhD, aside from the dissertation, by the start of the fellowship year. The fellow must remain in residence for the 9-month academic year, deliver one public lecture, and teach one seminar course. Stipend of $30,000 plus health insurance, a $1,500 research budget, and a fully equipped office.

 

Program Description: One award offered for dissertation research on any topic within African and/or African Diaspora studies. The successful applicant will have full access to Boston College's seven libraries as well as several rare books and manuscripts collections. Awards support one year of research.
