Comments: The Postdoctoral Fellowship for Academic Diversity Program is a multiyear competitive program whose goal is to increase the diversity of the community of scholars devoted to academic research. We seek to attract promising researchers and educators from different backgrounds, races, ethnic groups, and other diverse populations whose life experience, research experience and employment background will contribute significantly to the academic mission. Fellowships are available for postdoctoral training in all areas of study at Penn. Successful candidates will receive mentored scholarly and research training as well as courses and workshops to enhance their research success skills and prepare them for a faculty position in a major university.Open to graduate students from PENN and other institutions who have completed, or will complete, their requirements for Ph.D. by the Fellowship start date; postdoctoral scholars from other institutions who have completed their dissertation within the last three years; professional applicants (M.D., D.M.D., V.M.D., J.D., etc) within a year of completing their post-degree professional training.Stipend of $43,000 in year 1 with $2,000 increments in years 2 and 3. Also annual allowances for travel ($2,000) and research ($5,000), and one-time $5,000 relocation expense. The University also provides medical, vision, dental & life insurance.

Comments: The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation (HFG) welcomes proposals from any of the natural and social sciences and the humanities that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence, aggression, and dominance. Highest priority is given to research that can increase understanding and amelioration of urgent problems of violence, aggression, and dominance in the modern world. Ten or more dissertation fellowships are awarded each year to individuals who will complete the writing of the dissertation within the award year. These fellowships of $20,000 each are designed to contribute to the support of the doctoral candidate to enable him or her to complete the thesis in a timely manner, and it is only appropriate to apply for support for the final year of Ph.D. work.

Comments: Awards offered to doctoral students to investigate the application of quality principles and quality thinking of applicants' chosen field. Fellows will be given the chance to share their key findings of your dissertation with the ASQ community of more than 85,000 quality experts worldwide and to publish their findings in ASQ's flagship publications.At least nine months must be remaining in residence at the student's university from the due date of application.

Comments: Awards given to support dissertation research which will improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. Candidates are required to address health services research issues critical to AHRQ priority populations. The entire project period must be between 9 to 17 month.Must be enrolled in a doctoral degree program and have completed all non-dissertation requirements for their degrees.Up to $40,000 awarded for the entire project period.
