Comments: The Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) is an interdisciplinary research fellowship housed at the headquarters of the Academy in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its purpose is to stimulate and support scholarly work by promising scholars and practitioners in the early stages of their careers and to foster exchange between an emerging generation of scholars and Academy members with shared interests. Preference is given to untenured junior faculty but the program is also open to qualified postdocs. Candidates who are completing scholarly manuscripts are especially welcome. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status as of the application deadline date and should have completed their Ph.D., J.D, or equivalent professional training within the last 10 years. Graduate student applicants must complete all degree requirements by August 1, 2013. Faculty can receive up to $60,000 (not to exceed one-half of current salary). Postdocs receive an annual stipend of up to $40,000.

Comments: Up to twenty internships in the opportunity to complete a high-level professional development program in Germany. Internships last 9-to-12 months. Candidates are competitively chosen from the fields of business administration, economics journalism, law, public policy, international relations, and related fields. Applicant must have a graduate degree or be at graduate level training in any of the six major fields. Applicants must also be between the ages of 23 and 34 at the time of application. Include stipends of EUR 2,000 per month from September through May. Comments: The National Humanities Center offers 40 residential fellowships for advanced study in the humanities during the academic year, September 2013 through May 2014. Applicants must have doctorate or equivalent scholarly credentials. Young scholars as well as senior scholars are encouraged to apply, but they must have a record of publication, and new Ph.D.s should be aware that the Center does not normally support the revision of a doctoral dissertation. In addition to scholars from all fields of the humanities, the Center accepts individuals from the natural and social sciences, the arts, the professions, and public life who are engaged in humanistic projects. The Center is also international and gladly accepts applications from scholars outside the United States.

Comments: The German Chancellor Fellowship is intended for career-oriented individuals who identify a German host and design a project to expand their professional expertise and accomplishment. Ten awards are given to U.S. citizens annually. The German Chancellor Fellowship Program was inaugurated in 1990 under the patronage of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl to promote the transatlantic partnership between Germany and the United States.

Comment: The Kislak Fellows Program supports scholarly research that contributes significantly to a greater understanding of the cultures and history of the Americas. It provides an opportunity for a period of up to 8 months of concentrated use of materials from the Kislak Collection and other collections of the Library of Congress, through full-time residency at the Library. The program supports research projects in the disciplines of archaeology, history, cartography, epigraphy, linguistics, ethno-history, ethnography, bibliography and sociology, with particular, emphasis on Florida, the circum-Caribbean region and Mesoamerica. We encourage interdisciplinary projects that combine disciplines in novel and productive ways. Ph.D. degree, or equivalent terminal degree, awarded by October 15 of the year of application. Monthly stipend of $4,200 for up to 8 months.

Comments: Applicants must have received a doctoral degree, after January 1, 2008 but no later than July 15, 2013. For those expecting to receive degrees in 2013, all degree requirements must be completed by July 15, 2013. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously worked in health or health policy research. Annual stipend of $89,000 and limited financial support for research related expenses. The program selects up to nine outstanding scholars for two-year fellowships at one of three nationally prominent universities with the expectation that the scholars will seek to make important research contributions to future U.S. health policy. Scholars will have access to a full range of university resources.

Comments: Must hold a doctorate in a Science or Engineering subject by the time they take up the fellowship. Stipends will vary according to the circumstances of each fellow. Fellowships will cover lab fees or a research support grant, travel, and living and housing expenses. The Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission will be offering one post-doctoral Marshall Sherfield Fellowship in 2013 for science or engineering research at any British university or research institute. Awards are for one to two academic years.

Comments: The Princeton Society of Fellows, an interdisciplinary group of scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and selected natural sciences, invites applications for the 2013-2016 Fellowship competition. Four three-year Postdoctoral Fellowships will be awarded this year. The stipend for the academic year 2013-14 will be approximately $78,000. In addition, fellows are provided with a shared office, a personal computer, a research account of $5000 a year, access to university grants, benefits and other resources. Fellows are expected to reside in or near Princeton during the academic year in order to attend weekly seminars and participate fully in the intellectual life of the Society. Fully expected to have completed all requirements for the PhD by June
15, 2013.

Comments: Nominees must hold student status in January 2013. The K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Awards provide financial support for graduate students to attend AAC&U's 2013 Annual Meeting, which will be held January 23-26 in Atlanta, Georgia. All award recipients are required to attend the conference.  Awards include travel, lodging, conference registration and a one-year affiliation with AAC&U. All doctoral level graduate students who are planning a career in higher education are eligible, regardless of academic department. Graduate students in fields where the Master's degree is the terminal degree, such as the MFA, are also eligible.
