Comments: The Postdoctoral Fellowship for Academic Diversity Program is a multiyear competitive program whose goal is to increase the diversity of the community of scholars devoted to academic research. We seek to attract promising researchers and educators from different backgrounds, races, ethnic groups, and other diverse populations whose life experience, research experience and employment background will contribute significantly to the academic mission. Fellowships are available for postdoctoral training in all areas of study at Penn. Successful candidates will receive mentored scholarly and research training as well as courses and workshops to enhance their research success skills and prepare them for a faculty position in a major university.Open to graduate students from PENN and other institutions who have completed, or will complete, their requirements for Ph.D. by the Fellowship start date; postdoctoral scholars from other institutions who have completed their dissertation within the last three years; professional applicants (M.D., D.M.D., V.M.D., J.D., etc) within a year of completing their post-degree professional training.Stipend of $43,000 in year 1 with $2,000 increments in years 2 and 3. Also annual allowances for travel ($2,000) and research ($5,000), and one-time $5,000 relocation expense. Comments: 8 fellowships to American postdoctoral researchers in support of work to be carried out at Israeli Universities. Program fellows must be accepted as postdoctoral researchers by Israeli host institutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have received doctorates within the last 3 years or who are about to receive their doctorate. Stipend of $20,000 per academic year, $40,000 in total, plus a grant from the host institution. The US Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program is open to candidates in all academic disciplines. Open to only U.S. citizens.

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Sequoyah Graduate Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to students in any curriculum. Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semesters' grades and a spring semester class schedule. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.

Comments: The AIGC Fellowship program provides approximately $1,200,000 in fellowships to over 400 American Indian and Alaska Native graduate and professional students each year.  Graduate fellowships are monetary awards made to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate or professional degree-seeking students, who meet all eligibility criteria.  The fellowship amount is typically between $1000 and $5000 per academic year (not including summer), and varies from year to year, depending on the number of qualified applicants, the availability of funds and unmet financial need.


To be considered, applicants must be:

  • Pursuing a post-baccalaureate graduate or professional degree as a full time student at an accredited institution in the U.S.;
  • Able to demonstrate financial need through submission of the AIGC Financial Need Form (FNF), and;
  • An enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native group, or provide documentation of descent (possess one-fourth degree verifiable federally recognized Indian blood) as verified through submission of a Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC).

Program Description: At least one fellowship is awarded yearly to a postdoctoral scholar engage in advanced research in any aspect of the history of aerospace from the earliest human interest in flight to the present. Fellowship term is 6 to 9 months and the fellow is required to be in residency at NASA headquarter or one of the NASA centers.

Program Description: Several fellowships are offered to creative writers to interpret, explore, and create fiction and creative nonfiction works. Fellowships allow recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement.
